In 1958, 22 year old architectural draftsman, Horst Steinhilber joined the design department of one of Canada's largest home builders. By 1965, Horst was appointed the company's head designer and department manager. Between 1965 and 1977, the company had won more housing awards than any other Canadian home builder.
In 1977, Horst and his wife Elvira realized their dream of relocating to Central Alberta and formed their own company, Deer Run Design and Drafting, which soon became Deer Run Homes. Having 20 years of design and construction experience, Horst quickly built a team of craftsmen who provided the quality and lifestyle Deer Run home owners enjoy today. The team was strengthened in 1989 by the addition of Horst's son, Michael, a new university graduate, and again in 1992 when Ray Senicki joined the team as Project Sales Manager.
Deer Run Homes range from 1000-4000 square feet, as single family and semi-detached plans. They are designed to enhance the lifestyle of first time homeowners, growing and move-up families, executives and empty nest downsizers.
Deer Run Homes has been the honored recipient of "Customer Choice" Annual Awards 4 times. These awards are presented by the Central Alberta Home Builders Association and The Alberta New Home Warranty Program.
The Deer Run Homes' mission is to provide excellence in the design, construction and after sales service to all its homebuyers. Perhaps new home buyer Martha Hart said it best in her note to Horst, "It has truly been a pleasure working with you. Thank You for building me such a beautiful home."
Thank You for considering Deer Run Homes. It will be a pleasure to serve you!
